Which PDF Conversion Do You Need?
Choose an input format below, then compare the available outputs. Use a page image when appearance matters, editable text for rewriting, or verified table values for a spreadsheet. If the only change is page order, stay in PDF and use a page tool. This avoids rebuilding content that does not need to change.
Convert Files into PDF
Image converters fit photographs and graphics onto paper-sized pages. Text and XML conversion create a paginated text document. Modern DOCX, XLSX and PPTX conversion runs on your device. Optional Native Office export offers an isolated server route for DOCX, XLSX and PPTX when the host’s scanner, processor and cleanup checks are ready.
Use DOCX, XLSX or PPTX for browser conversion or optional native export. Native processing additionally requires the host’s security scanner, isolated processor and cleanup service. Older DOC, XLS, PPT, ODT, ODS, ODP and RTF documents must first be saved in the corresponding modern Office format in a desktop office application. Native export does not bypass the file security checks.

On your deviceConvert PDF into Another Format
JPG, PNG, BMP and TIFF exports render complete pages. Editable Word, Excel, CSV, HTML and Markdown use existing selectable text and require review of reading order or inferred columns. PowerPoint output contains page images rather than reconstructed slide objects.

On your devicePDF to AutoCAD (DXF)
Export PDF drawing paths as 2D DXF polylines for CAD inspection.
On your deviceHow Can You Identify the Right Input?
A scanned page and a digital text document can look alike but contain different information. Try selecting text in a reader. If none is available, use OCR before text export. If your document is encrypted, provide its known password through Unlock PDF before browser editing.
Compare the Available Conversion Routes
| Source | Useful output | Preparation |
|---|---|---|
| DOCX | Image-based PDF | Browser rendering of common document elements. Review fonts, margins and page breaks. Save DOC, ODT and RTF documents as DOCX in your source application first. |
| XLSX | PDF with selectable cell text | Recalculate and save formula results first. Choose page layout in the browser. Save XLS and ODS workbooks as XLSX in your source application first. |
| PPTX | Image-based PDF | Static supported slides; animation and media do not become playable PDF content. Save PPT and ODP presentations as PPTX in your source application first. |
| JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP | One image per page with proportional fitting. No automatic OCR. | |
| PDF with text | DOCX, XLSX, CSV, TXT | Existing text is extracted. Reading order and inferred cells need review. |
| Any renderable PDF | PNG, JPG, BMP, TIFF, image-based PPTX or DOCX | Page appearance becomes pixels. Select DPI for the intended use. |
Which Tasks Need a Guided Workflow?
| Requirement | Where to start | Key distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Create a PDF from mixed source types | Create PDF | Choose the right converter for each source before merging checked outputs. |
| Edit text in a Hangul document | PDF to HWP | Text transfer needs a compatible editing application and layout review; this toolkit does not export HWP directly. |
| Submit an archival PDF/A file | PDF to PDF/A | An ordinary PDF is not a validated archival file. Obtain the requested profile and check conformance. |
| Produce a PDF in another language | Translate a PDF | Extraction, language review and rebuilding the document are separate steps; the toolkit has no automatic translation engine. |
Choose an Efficient Conversion Path
Every additional conversion can discard information or introduce another place to check. If you have the original Word file, export it directly to PDF instead of going through images. If a PDF already contains an embedded photo, compare image extraction with rendering the full page. When a receiving service asks for a particular format, confirm whether it also specifies dimensions, a maximum file size or a particular encoding.
Why Can a Conversion Differ from the Original?
A PDF describes fixed pages. It often does not contain the original spreadsheet formulas, slide objects or document styles in a recoverable form. A converter can create a useful new file without recreating that missing source structure. This toolkit labels those output types explicitly and rejects no-text editable exports rather than delivering a blank document as a success.
FAQs
Which Format Should I Choose for Editing?
Keep the original source whenever possible. Use DOCX for reflowed paragraphs, XLSX for text cells you will clean up, and a page-image presentation when fixed slide appearance is sufficient.
Do These Tools Use a Processing API?
The processing code uses bundled browser libraries and optional engines installed on this website’s own server. It does not require a third-party processing API key.
